softcore

intervention

Softcore Intervention brings together five artists working across artistic direction & conceptual design (Fulya Muftuoglu), sculpture (Cigdem Durmaz Senol), multimedia (07L3), sound (Daisy Wells-Macalla) and light installation (Asli Atasoy Oner) to explore the fragile border between trust and disgust, and how experiences of violence can exist both inside and outside the body. The project is supported by Larissa Hassoun, who works as a counselor in the field of sexualized violence and discrimination.

The project began with conversations sparked by a woman’s account of sexual assault and the contradictory emotions it revealed: the desire to listen, the impulse to turn away, and the difficulty of collectively holding experiences that are so often met with silence. As these conversations developed, Fulya Müftüoğlu encountered Softcore Intervention—the book and ongoing artistic project by 07L3. Its language resonated with the questions already present, and the exhibition adopted its title as a framework for exploring how violence moves between individual lives and collective realities.

The exhibition invites visitors to enter slowly to touch, listen, and notice their own bodily responses. It creates a space for witnessing, where contradictions can coexist and discomfort is met with care instead of avoidance.

This project is conceived as an evolving artistic research rather than a fixed work.

Each new iteration will be developed as a site-specific artwork with its new title, identity, and artistic form.

Through collaboration with different artists and in direct response to the architecture, atmosphere, and social context of each location, the project will continuously transform.

Rather than touring as a finished exhibition, it will be reimagined each time it is realized, allowing every presentation to become a distinct artistic experience while remaining connected to the project's underlying research and core questions.

If you're interested in...

I'd love to hear from you.
