TWO ROCKS, March 2023

We are two rocks

Entwined and still

By the edge of the sea

Everything we know in this world will disappear one day

But we will stay here, like this…

Mountains will go,

Seas will go,

Days will go

Nights will go…

But we will remain here

Flowers will go,

      Colors will go,

Birds will go,

Sounds will go

You and I will remain like two rocks, entwined at the water’s edge.

Everything we know will go

Close your eyes now

It is quiet here now

And then, when nothing’s left in this world but air

We too will be ready to go

We will take that last bit of air in slowly with one deep breath

And let it seep into every hollow

We will loosen and crumble into sand slowly

So slowly,

Sooo  s   l   o    w    l     y…

We will begin to flow into salt water

Turning to glittering grains of sand and merge with the vast sea

One by one…

Gently…

Sparkling….
