THE CRACK, November 2021

If you are broken

Water most certainly seeps from that crack

You do not feel it when the air is dry

You think you were sealed until the day you cry

And you suddenly complain

Once comes the first drop in pain

You believe your gaze is clear

Your soul at ease—

And you suddenly feel the drain

Once you realize what’s been giving you peace was the dry air.

One heartbreak is more than enough to remind you how that crack was put there

A long lasting dramatic cry is necessary to keep the tissue softer

The humid finds a way to merge with that feeling you forgot

You welcome the pain as if it’s new; not knowing that it will stay with you forever

Keep in mind this time,

One, if you haven’t noticed that crack before

Two, if you never cherished if from your core

Three, never dared to kiss the one who broke you

Water will seep

from that
